Halloween is almost here, yay! Seattle families, we hope you have your costumes picked out and have a great time trick or treating! Hopefully the rain holds off. I know many of the Seattle nannies have some great activities and events planned with their nanny kids during the day. Have fun!
Crafts:
These hand & footprint Halloween crafts are adorable as well! Check them out here.

Sensory Bin Activity:
Pumpkin seeds & guts are also great to use for a Halloween themed sensory bin. You can leave all the pumpkin "insides" together and let the kiddos explore the texture and smell of the seeds and guts. Add some scoopers and little bowls to the bin as well. Alternatively, you can take all the seeds, clean them, and then dye them. Then they can then be used again at a later date for other crafts.
To dye the seeds:
In a bowl, mix 1/2 cup of cold water with 1 1/2 tablespoons of vinegar and add a few drops of food coloring until you have your desired color. Stir until your food coloring is all mixed and then start add the pumpkin seeds. Stir well so that all the seeds are coated. Then, let them sit about 30 minutes. For a darker color, let them sit longer. Repeat these steps for other colors if desired.
Once you've let them set to your desired color, scoop out the seeds and lay flat on a paper towel. Let them sit an hour and then transfer them to a cookie sheet lined with wax paper to let them dry completely. Overnight is perfect!
